Sanbiotec identified microbial strains capable of producing natural pigments, such as carotenoids and melanin, with potential for industrial application. The project included the optimization of cultivation conditions to stimulate the synthesis of these compounds, as well as the scaling-up of the bioprocess under controlled conditions. This solution was specifically developed for the textile industry as a sustainable alternative to synthetic dyes, reducing the environmental impact associated with conventional dyeing processes.
