Sanbiotec selected and validated microbial strains capable of inhibiting the growth of harmful algae in the fountains of the Alhambra complex in Granada. This project, developed in collaboration with the University of Granada —which conducted the algae tests— aimed to offer a biological alternative to traditional chemical products that can be aggressive to stone and accelerate its deterioration. The result was a sustainable solution respectful of cultural heritage, with potential for application in the conservation of historical monuments and sensitive environments.
